5 Best Things To Do In Sydney Australia

During my 3rd solo trip, I decided to do my first stop in Sydney, Australia. Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and one of Australia's largest cities where you will find the world famous Sydney Opera House. What I love about Sydney is that it has everything someone could possibly wish for in a city.

There are a ton of things to do and places to see. During my visit, a few places had stood out to me the most and something that I feel like will be a great starting point when visiting the city. Below, I will be listing five best things to do in Sydney that I feel like are totally worth seeing especially if you only have a short time in the city. Of course, you are more than welcome to explore more of what Sydney can offer even if it's not listed below

5 Best Things To Do In Sydney

1. Darling Harbour & Sydney Harbour Bridge

This was probably the first thing I did upon arriving in Sydney. Since my hotel was very close to the harbour, I walked to check it out and to have lunch in the area. The Sydney Harbour bridge stands next to the Opera House as one of the city's most iconic landmarks. If you are up for some adventure, sign up for a 2 to 4 hours of bridge climb through BridgeClimb Sydney, that will provide you the panoramic views of the Harbour, the Sydney skyline, and the Opera House.

2. The Sydney Opera House

Of course, you cannot come to Sydney without seeing the famous Opera House right? The Sydney Opera House was designed by a Danish architect and was built with a sailboat-inspired structure. What an amazing work of art. It was even better to see in person.

3. The Rocks

This neighborhood consists of cobblestone streets and 19th-century buildings that are so charming. It is also surrounded by many shops or designer shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries. This is a prime location next to attractions like the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. A location that is extremely convenient for visitors to stay at as well.

4. The Royal Botanical Garden

This garden is stunning. It's a 74-acre garden that is divided into multiple areas rich with bright and colorful flora and fauna. This was my favorite spot to get some fresh air and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. The garden was founded in 1816 and it's also very close to the Sydney Harbour. The garden is free to visit and opens everyday from 7am to 5pm. Though, I highly recommend to check the time due to it can change.

5. The Bondi Beach

It's an amazing feeling knowing you can easily escape the busy city by driving a few miles out to go to the beach. Bondi Beach is known for its gnarly waves, which make it one of the top destination for surfers around the world. It is also a great spot for strolling, sunbathing and swimming. The views are spectacular and you will also find the famous Bondi Iceberg Pool here. The beach is surrounded by souvenirs shops and quaint restaurants where you can enjoy a lunch or a dinner by the beach.

What I like about Sydney is it has so much to offer. Whether you're looking to watch a show at the iconic Opera House, cruise around/take the waves at the Bondi Beach, or explore trendy areas like the Darling Harbour and the Rocks, Sydney features something for everyone. I also have a specific diet needs when it comes to food, and I had no problem finding them in Sydney. They have something literally for everyone!

If you are looking for the easiest way to see the top attractions in Sydney without renting a car, I highly suggest to stay around the area of Circular Quay and The Rocks. I also recommend to book Sydney and Bondi Hop-on and Hop-off tour bus . To fully see everything, I suggest to book a ticket that is valid for two days instead of one. This way, you'll have more time to enjoy the city.

Thank you so much for stopping by!! :)
