The Gingham print was originally developed in India and Indonesia that was first exported to Europe in the 1600s. The gingham fabric was used to make clothes for the working class both in Europe, and the United States.

The Gingham print is a vintage flair that instantly makes us think of the past. It is a basic print that is also timeless. From once being associated with picnic tablecloth and Dorothy's iconic blue dress (famous character in the Wizard of Oz), it is now being used in interior designs as well in the fashion world. It truly has come a long way. In the modern world, the Gingham print is still very popular and still being used mostly on everything. It works for all ages, and all seasons.

When I saw this dress, the first thing I thought about was how perfect it would be to use for spring and summer. Even though it's still winter, the warm weather we have been having has been encouraging me to share a few spring/summer outfits. I guess I am ready to change my wardrobe!

I already know that this piece will be something I will be re-wearing for the upcoming season. I purchased this dress from Lily Rain boutique in person. I did somehow find a few Gingham print pieces online that I am sharing them with you here. To find more Gingham print pieces, click link above to view more.

Have a good one! :)
